THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT US
NEW SINGLE out now
I'm excited to announce that my Single 'They don't care about Us' is finally out. It's honestly been hard these past few months having to witness the genocide unfold in Gaza and watching so-called 'civilized' Western societies woefully ignoring the plight of my people. It's been difficult to have any sense of normalcy when every day innocent lives are lost to the violence and to the silence of those who we would ordinarily look up to. Frankly, it's so unbelievably frustrating having to constantly be dehumanized by Western societies while they continue to exploit, oppress and kill us in the process. How dystopian to be living in a modern world still plagued by tribalism and so far from the democratic ideals we were taught to believe the Western world strives to have.
Nothing justifies Racism. Nothing justifies a Genocide.
Enough is Enough.
I made this song because sometimes it feels as if the world simply doesn't care about us. Our lives just aren't as valued or treated equally by the West, which is clear in the way that they dehumanize us, and in the way they continue to exploit our resources and wage wars on our countries. I'm so fed up with being told that Arabs are bad, or that they're evil, or that we're the enemy, while we're being vilified, oppressed and massacred indiscriminately. In spite of the atrocities we're having to cope with, I do believe that one day, soon enough the suffering will be alleviated and we will all be able to share this earth to live together in peace and not fear, no matter our race, creed or beliefs.
And until then, I'll continue to advocate for my people's rights to be free.
Elle Moon - Emerging Atlanta Artist
about
ELLE MOON is a 30 year old Singer, Songwriter, Composer, Director, Producer and Editor. She's a Pop, Electro, Rock and Rap Artist. Her latest Single 'They Don't Care about Us' pays homage to her Middle Eastern heritage and serves to illustrate her frustrations with the way that Arabs are constantly being dehumanized by the West. The song's lyrics serve to depict the dark realities that marginalized people cope with. Not only are they constantly being exploited and oppressed but their oppressors also strip them of their basic rights and humanity by vilifying them in order to justify their cruel and unjust oppression. Elle complements the darker undertones of the song by composing a light and fast-paced Oriental Dance Pop instrumental.
Elle's latest Single is meant to unite, empower and give marginalized people, and specifically, Arabs representation, as their voices often go unheard or get ignored. As an American Lebanese Artist, with Palestinian, Syrian and Slavik roots, she grew up primarily Christian and Muslim, but also has some Jewish heritage. Her roots add another layer to her artistry, as she strives to advocate for the rights of her people to exist freely and in peace, without having to live in constant fear of the dehumanization and violence committed by Western societies.
Elle released her debut album 'Purple Skies' in 2021 and has since been producing, directing and editing her visual album. The album contains 11 tracks, 10 of which were produced by Elle and they were all written and sung by her in English, French and Arabic.
Elle spent the majority of her life living in between the United States and the Middle East. Her music reflects her cosmopolitan upbringing, molded by her French education, her Middle Eastern roots and her American lifestyle.
